Lovely refurbished rooms with a nice character, making for a comfortable stay. The cleanliness of the hotel was impressive, with good crockery and well-presented food. The staff were friendly and the owner went above and beyond to help me with a problem I had with my car. The Sunday lunch carvery was great value for money, with a good selection and served by very friendly staff in a beautiful dining room. The beds were warm and comfortable, and I appreciated the fan in the room for when I needed it. The veggie breakfast was delicious, especially the vegetable "sausages".
There were a few minor drawbacks, such as a stained bathtub and some worn areas of the hotel. The lighting in the room could have been better, and there were some issues with light switches not functioning properly.
